About Tabita

Tabita is a Moroccan-American traveling photographer and writer currently based in Western Massachusetts. Working and learning at the intersections of Global Indigenous Studies and Multispecies Ethnography, Tabita is endlessly curious about place-based relationships. In their most recent project, Familiar Mysteries, Tabita uses collaborative photography and conversational interviews as contemporary vessels for multimedia oral histories. A sampling of photographs from that project, conducted in their family's homelands in the Souss-Massa region of Morocco, can be found on their home page. Tabita's work has been featured by L.L. Bean and Popsugar.

Tabita is an avid backpacker and has led backcountry trips with Hampshire College and the Venture Out Project. Second to being on trail, they love reading Mary Oliver, cooking for friends, and long bike rides to beloved foraging locations.
